Stop doing that.
PRE-FLIGHT reads the modDesc of every mod and map in your folder before the game is ever open, resolves what each one declares it requires, and checks it against what’s actually on disk. What comes back is a plain list: the mod, what it wants, and the fact that you don’t have it.
– Go install those. Then load the game once and be done.
– Reads only. Writes nothing. Touches no savegames.
