Remove the crop insurance mod before installing this version, as they will conflict. A new save is not necessary.
Midwest Ag Insurance is an integrated crop and equipment insurance system for Farming Simulator 25.
This is also part of a bigger system. It did not have game-breaking issues in testing. If you run across anything that is game-breaking, let me know. It will be revisited regardless once it is tied in with the larger system as a whole.
Crop Insurance
Protect individual fields with crop insurance designed around your operation.
- Per-field policies: Select the field and crop you want to insure.
- Flexible coverage: Choose your coverage level when purchasing a policy.
- Crop-specific premiums: Premiums are calculated using the insured acreage, crop type, estimated revenue, and configured premium rates.
- Covered crop losses: Supports hail and wildfire loss events, with optional wind-damage integration when the compatible Down Crops & Grain Economy mod is installed.
- Claims and policy history: Review policy records, eligible claims, payouts, and expired policies.
- Seasonal enrollment: Crop insurance enrollment runs from November 1 through March 1.
- Policy duration: Crop policies remain active for 32 in-game days unless otherwise terminated.
Equipment Insurance
Unexpected repairs can put a serious dent in your farm’s finances. Equipment Insurance helps cover eligible repair expenses on your owned machinery.
Choose Your Coverage
Select from multiple insurance plans to suit your operation:
- Economy, lower premiums with a higher deductible.
- Standard, balanced coverage and deductible.
- Premium, higher coverage with a lower deductible.
- Replacement Cost, coverage based on the cost of replacing the insured machine with a new equivalent configuration.
Actual premiums depend on the insured value and applicable underwriting factors.
Insure Equipment Your Way
- Individual policies: Choose specific machines to insure.
- Blanket coverage: Insure eligible owned equipment under a fleet-wide policy.
- Usage and condition considerations: Premiums account for applicable equipment classification, operating hours, and machine condition.
- Automatic premium billing: Premiums are billed periodically, with rates recalculated as applicable equipment information changes.
- Coverage limits: Annual aggregate limits help control total claim payments.
- Policy management: Review insured machines, coverage levels, deductibles, premiums, claims, and policy status.
Repair-Based Claims
Equipment claims are tied to eligible repair expenses rather than simply the existence of a mechanical fault.
- Eligible vanilla workshop repairs can generate pending claims.
- Compatible Advanced Damage System (ADS) component repairs and replacements can generate claims when they meet the coverage requirements.
- Routine maintenance, cosmetic work, and excluded service types do not qualify.
- Damage or breakdowns that existed before coverage began are excluded.
- Claims must be submitted through the insurance interface and are subject to the policy’s deductible, coverage percentage, remaining annual limit, and eligibility rules.
- Self-performed ADS repairs do not generate insurance claims.
Manage Your Policies In-Game
The integrated Midwest Ag Insurance interface lets you manage crop and equipment coverage from one place.
Review active policies, purchase coverage, check premiums and insured values, submit eligible claims, and examine your insurance history without relying on external spreadsheets or menus.
Compatibility
- Game: Farming Simulator 25
- Multiplayer: Supported, needs further testing. Feedback from server players would be appreciated.
- Advanced Damage System: Optional integration for compatible ADS-managed equipment and repair records.
- Down Crops & Grain Economy: Optional integration for supported wind-related crop damage.
- FS25 Management: Optional integration when installed.
This mod is highly recommended to be used in conjunction with the Advanced Damage System mod.
You may also run it without ADS, and it will still work properly.
