Moisture System V2.0.0.10

FS25 Mods |
Moisture System V2.0.0.10

This mod adds a moisture simulation system to Farming Simulator 25, with dynamic moisture mechanics affecting crop management, harvest timing, storage decisions, yield, and quality.

Moisture levels fluctuate across the farm based on terrain elevation, rainfall, snowfall, temperature fluctuations, and day/night cycles. Harvested crops receive a quality grade from A (premium) through D (poor), based on moisture content at harvest, with crop-specific optimal moisture windows and economic consequences at the point of sale. Grade tables and seasonal moisture projections are available through the in-game interface using Shift+M.

Features

  • Terrain-aware field moisture simulation with monthly variation patterns across three distinct environment profiles: Dry, Wet, and Normal.
  • Grass management system with progressive tedding mechanics, weather-responsive drying rates, and automatic hay conversion at optimal moisture thresholds. Multiple tedding passes accelerate drying.
  • Ground rot: Grass and straw piles left exposed accumulate rain exposure over time, triggering progressive volume loss as organic material deteriorates. Hay will revert to grass if it gets too wet.
  • Bale rotting: Unprotected bales track cumulative rain exposure with initial tolerance periods, escalating decay rates based on exposure history, and limited recovery during dry spells. Wrapping and shelter infrastructure protect bales.
  • Purchase the moisture meter hand tool in the store for precise field and pile readings on demand. This can also be displayed in the HUD.
  • Each crop species has unique optimal moisture windows based on real-world agricultural standards.
  • Moisture affects yield as well as quality. Crop that is too dry will generally yield badly, while crop that is too wet will generally yield well but with poor quality.
  • Weather variability simulates realistic seasonal patterns and affects harvest planning.
  • Moisture impact charts can be hovered with the mouse to show specific yield and quality values for a given moisture level.
  • Vehicles and silos containing crops show the current crop grade, moisture, and quality in the HUD.
  • Weather impact on ground piles is optimised to improve performance for lower end machines.
  • Existing crop that predates the moisture mod is assigned 100% quality and ideal moisture when first interacted with.
  • Customization options allow moisture dynamics, tedding efficiency, decay parameters, and interface preferences to be adjusted.
  • You can write your own weather profiles. Visit GitHub and follow the guide.

Changelog

2.0.0.10:

  • Fixed a Lua error when unloading via an auger/conveyor onto a silo.

2.0.0.9:

  • Fixed a game freeze when a hail spell started without a hail strength set, most often seen with winter hail on maps that do not have hail in winter.
  • Weather Control OFF now properly uses only the map’s own weather. Previously, extra winter rain and hail could still appear in the forecast after loading a save.
  • MacDon grain swaths now follow the weather until they are combined: they dry out in dry weather, get wetter in rain, and slowly rot if left out in the rain too long. Previously, they kept their cut-time moisture and quality forever.

2.0.0.8:

  • Hay conversion threshold, the moisture level below which grass becomes hay, is now a setting, with options 4/6/8/10/12%. Defaults to 8%.
  • Improved how min/max weather profile temperatures are applied throughout the day.
  • Fixed an issue with moisture not tracking correctly when using Silo Extensions.

V2.0.0.5:

  • Added support for the Bulk Hall silos added in Highlands Fishing DLC. Moisture and quality will now be tracked for crop stored in these silos, and crop can be dried as normal.
  • Fixed an MP Lua issue when players join the server.

2.0.0.3:

  • Tuned some weather profiles to properly account for how weather such as thunder impacts moisture.
  • Grain drying is now instigated within the Moisture Menu using Shift + M rather than pressing a key when near the silo. This avoids some issues with some silos while also providing more information.
  • Durations of weather spells are now scaled based on the number of days per month. This helps with planning field work around weather introduced in v2.
  • The moisture system now controls weather. Choose a Weather Profile that matches your region in game settings. Many maps have appropriate defaults configured within the mod.
  • The moisture calendar has been replaced with a Weather information view showing seasonal forecasts and historical weather data.
  • The moisture to quality UI has been replaced with Moisture Impact. This shows the impact of moisture on yield and quality for a given crop.
  • Material rotting has generally been eased for both bales and ground piles. Material takes longer to begin to rot and rots more slowly.
  • Fixed an issue with grain drying not starting in multiplayer games.
  • The impact of weather is now scaled based on the number of days per month.
  • Drying charges are no longer applied when depositing into your own selling station.
  • The rate of crop drying has been tightened so large volumes of crop do not take forever to dry.
