Mil Mi-24 v1.0
The Mil Mi-24 (Russian: Ми-24; NATO designation: Hind[2]) is a large, limited troop-carrying helicopter gunship and attack helicopter[3] produced by the Moscow Mil Helicopter Factory since the early 1970s.[4] Variants of the Mi-24 include the export versions Mi-25 and Mi-35.
It has been used since 1972 by the Soviet Air Force, its successors, and around fifty other nations. Soviet pilots nicknamed this helicopter the “flying tank” (Russian: летающий танк, letayushchi tank). Other unofficial names it received were крокодил, Krokodil (“Crocodile”), due to the new camouflage design of the helicopter,[5] and Stakan (“Glass Glass”), due to the large flat glass windows that surrounded the three-seat cockpit of the first Mi-24 version.
