Realistic Footsteps adds visible, dynamic footprints to FS25. Tracks adapt to the terrain, footwear, movement, and current weather conditions.
Features
- Five sole patterns based on work boots, hiking boots, rubber boots, sneakers, and leather or cowboy boots.
- Footprints appear on soft soil, cultivated fields, grass, mud, manure, and snow.
- Footwear is automatically detected and assigned based on the avatar’s current outfit.
- Track depth and characteristics vary depending on the ground surface.
- On soft terrain, the character visibly sinks into the ground by approximately 2 to 10 cm, depending on the conditions. The map elevation is not permanently altered.
- Mud and soil are picked up while walking and remain on the soles.
- Different soil colors, such as brown, red, or sandy tones, are transferred onto other surfaces, including asphalt, concrete, and indoor flooring.
- The color of the tracks is based on the detected hue of the ground. When moving from dark cultivated soil onto a lighter surface, the color of the dirt carried on the soles shifts gradually over several steps.
- Areas of water and water-filled tire ruts are detected. No footprints are left on water, and walking through water washes mud and dirt from the soles.
- When entering a vehicle with dirty, wet, or snowy boots, up to eight imprints can be left on the cab floor. These marks remain until the vehicle is washed or otherwise removed.
- Rain gradually washes away existing footprints.
- Fresh snow covers older tracks.
- Sun and wind cause the marks to dry out and fade depending on the conditions.
- Footprints are reused efficiently, and optimized rendering avoids unnecessary, constant recalculations.
- Footprints are generated locally and do not require additional network events for every mark. Multiplayer is supported without additional network traffic.

Changelog
- V1.0.1.1
Log error fixed, forgot the test runner yesterday evening; it’s clean again now. SORRY. - V1.0.1.0
Added dirty boots, authentic tread patterns, and visible footprints. Five authentic sole designs are available: work boots, hiking boots, rubber boots, sneakers, and leather or cowboy boots. Automatic detection and assignment are based on the avatar’s current outfit.Added appropriate impressions on soft soil, cultivated fields, grass, mud, manure, and snow, with varying track depths and characteristics depending on the ground surface. Feet visibly sink by approximately 2 to 10 cm, depending on soil composition and moisture levels. The terrain elevation of the map is never permanently altered.
Mud and soil are picked up while walking and remain on the soles. Different soil colors, such as brown, red, or sandy tones, are transferred onto other surfaces, so dirty footprints also appear on asphalt, concrete, and indoor flooring. The transfer persists until the soles are clean again.
Areas of water and water-filled tire ruts are detected. No footprints float on the surface of the water, and wading through water washes mud and dirt off the soles.
Entering a vehicle with dirty, wet, or snowy boots leaves visible traces on the cab floor. These marks remain until the vehicle is washed.
Rain gradually washes away existing footprints. Fresh snow covers older tracks. Sun and wind cause the marks to dry out and fade depending on the conditions.
Footprints are reused efficiently to save performance. Optimized rendering avoids unnecessary, constant recalculations. The mod is designed for multiplayer without generating additional network traffic.
