Jaguar EBRC v1.0

The Jaguar EBRC (Engin Blindé de Reconnaissance et de Combat) is a modern 6×6 armored reconnaissance and combat vehicle developed for the French Army. It is a key component of France’s SCORPION modernization program, designed to replace older platforms like the AMX-10 RC and the ERC 90 Sagaie.

Armament:
– Main: 40mm CTA (Cased Telescoped Armament) autocannon, capable of firing armor-piercing and airburst rounds.
– Anti-Tank: Two launchers for the Akeron MP (formerly MMP) medium-range, fire-and-forget anti-tank missiles.
– Secondary: A remote weapon station (T3 Hornet S) with a 7.62mm machine gun.

Mobility:
– Engine: 500 hp Volvo D11 turbodiesel engine.
– Drive: 6×6 configuration with rear-wheel steering for high maneuverability in urban and mountainous terrain.
– Speed: Maximum road speed of 90 km/h.

Protection:
– Armor: STANAG 4569 Level 4, providing protection against 14.5mm armor-piercing rounds and mine/IED blasts.
– Countermeasures: Includes a laser warning receiver, missile detection system, acoustic sniper localization, and smoke-grenade launchers.

Role and Design
– The Jaguar is optimized for reconnaissance and fire support in complex environments.
– It features an advanced network-centric architecture, integrating with the French Army’s SICS (Système d’Information du Combat SCORPION) to share real-time battlefield data with other units.
– While it shares some tactical roles with other wheeled platforms, its combination of heavy firepower (40mm cannon + Akeron MP) and high-tech sensor suite is specifically intended to provide French and Belgian cavalry regiments with a decisive advantage in modern “hunt-to-kill” engagements.
